Residential renovation in Amsterdam.

This project is currently under construction in 2026.

The challenge was to renovate a three-level apartment in Amsterdam that improved the quality of living. The design focuses on spatial continuity across floors, integrating soft indirect lighting, warm material palettes and custom-built elements to create a calm and cohesive living environment.

Our studio was asked to assist in the design and construction coordination. Close dialogue occured betwen the client, suppliers and builder to ensure a high quality of detail.

INTERVENTIONS

The apartment occupies three interconnected levels within an existing residential building. The brief was to reorganize the interior to better support daily living for a couple, while introducing a sense of continuity between floors and allowing each space to retain its own character. This continuity was achieved through specific lighting design on each floor that ties them together visually and aesthetically.

In addition, a new kitchen and bathroom were introduced alongside a dedicated studio space and custom built-in wardrobes. On the upper level, a circular ceiling cove was integrated over the living area, incorporating a continuous light source that softens the space and emphasizes its geometry.
